The Amla is mentioned in the text of Ayurveda (Indian traditional system of medicine) as Amritphal which contains all five rasas. In Ayurveda the fruit is considered to balance all “tridoshas” and recommended as rejuvenator, blood purifier, liver and kidney function enhancer. The fruit is considered as

  • Lipid lowering and anti-atherosclerosis agent.
  • Tulsi in combination with Amla consider equal to Sanjeevani in Ayurveda.

 

Direction of use: Take about 3 g of Amla tea sample in 150 mL of water boil for 5 to 7 minutes. Filter it and add sugar as per the taste.

Caution: Do not consume before bed as it may cause disturbed stomach. Pregnant and lactating mothers and should not consume. Avoid in case of diarrhea.

Contraindications: Consume only after consultation with health care professional if already taking iron supplements, antidiabetic, antihypertensive, lipid lowering and other related medications.
